ACU Foundation Releases Latest Scores of North Carolina General Assembly

ACUF Ratings

The North Carolina General Assembly earned a more conservative ranking last year, moving up three percentage points over the state’s 2019 score, according to data released by the American Conservative Union Foundation.

The American Conservative Union Foundation conducts an annual, in-depth analysis to rate all 8,000 lawmakers in America, revealing their positions on a wide variety of issues directly affecting our communities and families.

North Carolina boasts an impressive 84 members of the general assembly who rank as conservatives. This conservative trend in the state reflects the great leadership in both chambers, with Speaker Tim Moore earning an 82% rating and Senate Majority Leader Kathy Harrington notching an impressive 95% rating. Their leadership in the General Assembly has helped other legislators spearhead conservative legislation.

“North Carolina’s conservative state lawmakers are expanding their coalition to hold Governor Cooper and his radical administration accountable,” said ACU Chairman Matt Schlapp. “Meanwhile, Cooper continues to wield his veto pen to unilaterally reject even the most incremental reforms. We encourage conservatives to keep up the fight to reverse the broken policies of Cooper’s leftist agenda.”
