Hillary
Gets Perfect Score in ACU's Presumptive
Democratic Presidential Candidate Clinton's ALEXANDRIA, VA - According to the 34th edition of the American Conservative Union's annual Rating of Congress -- widely regarded as the "gold standard" of conservative scoring of Congress -- New York Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton continues to vote with the Democrat Party's far Left fringe. The 2004 Ratings book was released last week. "It is interesting that the mainstream media wants to report that Sen. Clinton is moderating her views as part of her presumptive presidential dance to the center," said Keene. "Even more interesting is the fact that her voting record reflects no such moderation. Sen. Clinton still holds the same out-of-touch far Left positions she has held since her college days at Wellesley. The junior senator from New York is getting a free ride from the mainstream media as she seeks to pull off a major makeover of her image. Her voting record, however, tells a very different story. In 2002, the American Conservative Union Foundation published Hillary Rodham Clinton: What Every American Should Know as part of a multi-million dollar voter education drive when the former First Lady ran for the Senate seat she currently occupies. In addition to information on her college days, the book detailed Sen. Clinton's past involvement in Arkansas' "Cattlegate" and Whitewater improprieties, and her "Travelgate" and "Filegate" abuses of power as First Lady of the United States. The book currently is being updated in anticipation of Mrs. Clinton's presidential run. The 2004 Ratings mark the 34th year ACU has scored members of the House and Senate on a broad spectrum of issues from taxes and spending, to defense and national security, and such social issues as abortion, school choice and lawsuit reform. ACU's 2004 Rating of Congress and an archive of past ratings can be viewed on line at www.conservative.org. |
